This post is about my experience applying for Canada VISA in the United States as a student.

Why do I want to apply for the Canada VISA?

To be honest, the Europe trip at the end of 2022 redefined the meaning of travel. Travel is no longer just for fun; it can also broaden my knowledge and horizons. As a result, to find my interest field. Since Canada is close to the U.S., I hope to take advantage of this opportunity.

Application Procedure

The application process for a Canada VISA in the United States is similar to that for a Schengen visa. Fill out the application form, collect fingerprints, and wait for the result. However, applicants can collect their fingerprints through the local USCIS, which has more branches than VFS services. And you can mail your passport to VFS. Well, much more convenient.

Please enter image description.

The General Process:

  1. Prepare documents + submit the application

    • Application Fee: CA$185
  2. Wait for the biometric collection request
  3. Wait for the Original Passport Request Letter, and mail the passport.

    • VFS $23.30 USD Package Transmission Fee
  4. Wait for the passport to be sent back.

Here is my application timeline:
